Choosing an impulse display fridge

An impulse display fridge is a small glass-door unit beside the checkout or on a counter, displaying drinks and snacks while customers pay. Typical capacities are 50–150 l, with bright lighting and often an illuminated advertising panel.

Compare capacity, countertop or floor-standing installation, and the heat and noise released into the checkout area.

What to check

• Available space: countertop units typically hold 50–100 l; floor-standing units 100–150 l.
• An illuminated advertising panel can suit a display dedicated to one brand.
• Check how the door opens in relation to the checkout.
• Energy consumption matters for equipment running for 24 h beside customers.

Where to use it

Suitable beside a checkout, on a café counter or near a petrol station payment area. For stock storage in a back room, consider a storage fridge instead.
