Choosing a cake display fridge
Cake displays use glass shelves, lighting and glazing at the front and sides. Cakes can dry out under strong airflow, so compare gentle ventilation and humidity control rather than choosing on appearance alone.
Compare static or ventilated cooling, humidity-controlled models for chocolate and creams (+6…+11 °C, lower humidity) or standard models (+3…+8 °C), curved or straight glass, shelf number and rear sliding doors.
What to check
- Cream cakes need suitable humidity and gentle airflow; chocolate and macarons may need a drier, humidity-controlled setting. Confirm the right conditions for your recipes.
- Shelf number and clearance for taller cakes.
- Display length and whether it forms part of a counter or stands alone.
- Lighting on each level and glass shape suited to the display.
- Night settings and covers to reduce energy consumption.
Where to use it
A café counter may suit a curved display 0.9–1.5 m long; a pastry shop may need a longer straight-glass run. Chocolate and pralines may require a separate humidity-controlled display.
