Where a laboratory or clinic needs both chilled and frozen storage but floor space is tight, the BioCompact II RR310/RF210 puts two Gram cabinets on one 595 × 640 mm footprint. The RR310 refrigerator offers 218 litres gross (189 litres net) and the RF210 freezer 125 litres gross (104 litres net).
Each compartment has its own electronic Gram controller with alarms, a voltage-free contact and offset, plus a digital thermometer. Audible and visual alarms are triggered by high or low temperature and by an open door. Cooling is fan-assisted, defrost is automatic and the defrost water is evaporated.
The lining is polystyrene; doors are solid, and a glass door is available as an option. Temperature range +2…+20 °C in the RR310 and −25…−5 °C in the RF210. Energy use per 24 h is 0.51 kWh for the RR310 (0.90 kWh with a glass door) and 1.47 kWh for the RF210, with electrical power of 95 W, 101 W and 132.8 W respectively.
