Intended for biomedical content in rooms with limited space, the Vestfrost ULTF-51i has a small footprint and can even be placed on a table. The temperature can be set between −86 and −20 °C to suit the need, and the 50-litre chamber takes 30 two-inch cryoboxes.
The interior is stainless steel and ATEX-protected, with no interior light. Vacuum insulated panels (VIP) form the insulation; cooling is static with manual defrost and the refrigerant is Nature R (99 g). The lockable solid door is not reversible, the cabinet has adjustable feet and castors, and depth including the handle is 790 mm.
The 5-inch i-Care touch screen displays the data logger records, which download over USB; a remote alarm connects through the dry contact and battery backup lasts 24 h. Alarms: high or low temperature, door open, power failure, probe failure. Supply 100–240 V, pull-down to −75 °C in 90 min, uniformity ±3.7 °C, 4.34 kWh per 24 h at −80 °C.
