Choosing a drinks fridge
A drinks fridge is designed for display, with a glass door, internal lighting and often an illuminated advertising panel. Typical temperatures are +2…+10 °C, with fan-assisted cooling to chill newly loaded drinks.
Compare under-counter units 85–90 cm high, upright units 1.5–2 m high with one or two doors, and sliding-door models for busy areas. An illuminated panel provides space for branding.
What to check
- Check bottle capacity as well as litres: ask how many 0.5 l bottles fit on each shelf.
- Door number and opening: separate doors limit heat gain; sliding doors need no clearance in front.
- An illuminated panel and LED lighting suit a sales display; simpler equipment may suit a back room.
- Consider a lock where the fridge will be unattended.
- Check the noise level for dining rooms and offices.
Where to use it
Under-counter units suit checkouts and small cafés; upright units with illuminated panels suit shop floors; sliding doors suit behind-bar use. Busy petrol stations and kiosks need capacity and cooling matched to turnover.
