Industrial kitchens and food retail operations that store ice by the hundred kilos use upright bins such as the UBH 1100. Its pre-cut top panel accepts several Scotsman ice makers. The exterior, frame, sides, top, back and bottom are stainless steel, and the construction is welded.
Ice moves from the machine to storage and on to the door opening on a first-in, first-out basis to keep it fresh, while a multi-position deflector prevents spillage. The polyethylene interior is sanitary and scoop-resistant, the spring-loaded plastic door seals tightly and polyurethane insulation reduces melt.
Sliding windows allow the contents to be checked, the adjustable stainless-steel legs have flanged feet, and the flexible drain hose rotates through 360°. Storage capacity is roughly 553 kg of ice, 434 kg per AHRI. The bin is 1225 mm wide, 1128 mm deep and 1427 mm high and weighs 145 kg (169 kg packed).
