Producing up to 2200 kg of scale ice per 24 h, the Scotsman MAR 308 SPLIT is an industrial-scale head that connects to a condensing unit or a central low-temperature system (R404A / R452A). The flakes are 2 mm thick with 2% residual water. The water-cooled SW version produces 1800 kg.
The storage bin is purchased separately. The evaporator and scraper blade are AISI 304 stainless steel, and the evaporator compartment end walls have been redesigned. The electromechanical control panel provides electrical protections plus rotation speed and reverse phase controls, together with low-water protection and a thermostatic ice level sensor for the bin.
The drive uses a V-belt, and the scotch-brite stainless panels are easy to remove. An expansion valve, solenoid valve, pressure regulating valve and heat exchanger are supplied. The head is 1326 × 853 × 520 mm and weighs 175 kg net, 199 kg gross.
On a three-phase 400 V / 50 Hz / 3N supply the head alone draws 395 W and uses 9.6 kWh per 24 h; water use 68.8 l/h (+32/+21 °C).
