Nugget ice maker Scotsman AFC 87

At 535 mm wide, the Scotsman AFC 87 makes nugget ice: compressed-flake pieces of about 1 g for use in drinks. Output is up to 74 kg per 24 h at +10 °C air and water, or 58 kg at +32/+21 °C, and the ice is stored in a built-in 25 kg bin. Air-cooled AS and water-cooled WS versions are available.

On the air-cooled model the airflow is at the front, so the machine can be fitted inside a bar counter. A retractable bin door makes it easier to take ice, and the bin has a hygienic pallet support. The XSafe system sanitises the machine automatically and continuously; the frame is stainless steel.

The compact machine measures 535 × 626 × 890 mm and weighs 51 kg net, 64 kg gross. It uses R290 refrigerant and a 230 V / 50 Hz supply, with a rated power of 360 W. Daily electricity use at +32/+21 °C is 8 kWh, and the AS model uses 3 l/h of water.
